Roof insulation Myths You Need to Stop Believing
Well, myths are there about almost everything in the world. Some people believe them, but some don’t. Anyway, with the world developing fast, many myths get busted. Some manufacturers want to promote their products, so they make people believe that products of other manufacturers to be crap (Product-related myths.) For example, I recently came across a website about a temperature controlling system manufacturer. The website says to get rid of all Roof Insulation and install their system in your house. After seeing their deluding website, I decided to write this article for house owners who might think what they say is true. Below are some myths related to Roof Insulation busted:
MYTH 1: One of the popular myths related to Roof Insulation is that all insulation types become less effective over time. Well, this is not true. The R-Value is the measurement for Roof Insulation effectiveness. But, I must say; spray foam insulation may offer inconsistent performance. So, you better think twice before choosing it for your house. As cellulose insulation settles into place after installation, a loss between 15-25% of its R-value is possible. Anyway, many quality attic Roof Insulation doesn’t settle or degrade. So, R-value and thickness remain unchanged.
MYTH 2: I have heard some people saying Roof Insulation is bad for our environment. But, I see the positive side of Roof Insulation. Insulation is your best friend for reducing energy usage. If the roof is not insulated properly, winter season would be a nightmare. I mean, you would have to keep the heaters on all day, and the gas bill would give you sad tears. Anyway, some spray foam Roof Insulation could have crude oil derived materials. So, it’s wise to choose a recyclable fibreglass Roof Insulation.
MYTH 3: Fire risk is another horrific myth related to Roof Insulation. Well, if your house is from your ancestors, the insulation may not installed according to current regulations. The new legislation suggests maintaining a gap of 50-200mm between Roof Insulation and downlights. Well, again I must say; I have heard stories about spray foam insulation combusting spontaneously when heats up. Other insulation types don’t carry excessive fire risks. They are non-flammable.
MYTH 4: Well, the last myth I am busting is an obvious lie. I have heard people saying Roof Insulation can damage your roof. Not all insulation do that. Well, only the spray foam insulation could. The spray foam Roof Insulation sticks to the roof, which can void your roof warranty. Anyway, Fiberglass spray Roof insulation is safe to use on the roof structure.
Summary: I just dispelled the myths related to Roof Insulation. I know, lots of myths are out there. No matter what the salespeople say, foil insulation is less effective. No matter what is the type, if not properly installed, Roof Insulation won’t work. Hiring a professional service provider can save your time and money. On the other hand, the professionals know how to install Roof Insulation effectively. If your house is from the 30s, 40s, and 50s, you better get new insulation. Spray Foam Insulation has some disadvantages, so think twice before choosing it. Recyclable Roof Insulation is not bad for the environment. By saving energy, Roof Insulation saves you money and contributes to the environment.
